The Department of Ardèche has formalized the donation of part of the historical archives of the Lafarge group, thus enriching its collections with a century of industrial history.

On October 14, 2026, Christian Féroussier, vice-president of the Department, signed the convention formalizing this donation. The very next day, 40 linear meters of archives were transferred to the Departmental Archives, documenting the history of the Lafarge plant in Viviers-le-Teil.
These new archives, added to existing collections, bring the total documentary volume dedicated to the history of the group and its Ardèche factory to over 60 linear meters. They cover numerous aspects of industrial life, including personnel management, daily life of workers, manufacturing techniques, bagging, and commercialization.
The classification and inventory of this precious heritage will facilitate access to these documents for researchers, history enthusiasts, and anyone wishing to understand the industrial history of Ardèche. This donation from the Holcim-Lafarge SA group constitutes an invaluable resource.
