Over the years, the association has maintained this solidarity commitment thanks to the involvement of its volunteers and its president, Christian Nicolas. "No membership fees or dues, everything relies on each person's willingness to give a little of their time for an essential cause," he states. The association currently has 19 members.
The association's primary role is to organize blood drives, with the medical aspect handled by the French Blood Establishment (EFS). Volunteers welcome donors and ensure the smooth running of appointments. Initially scheduled every eight weeks, there are now 7 drives per year following a request from the EFS. Five drives take place at the Estivareilles community hall and two in Vaux.
“"No membership fees or dues, everything relies on each person's willingness to give a little of their time for an essential cause."
To support its operations and fund its activities, the Association organizes a lottery in September and a belote card game competition on December 12. The association also benefits from the financial support of the municipalities of Estivareilles, Haut-Bocage, and the Val de Cher community of communes.
Under the impetus of Christian Nicolas, a new dynamic has been introduced, focusing on communication and the recognition of collective work. The president wishes to highlight everyone's investment, emphasizing that the success of the drives relies above all on collective mobilization and individual commitment. 45 years after its creation, the Estivareilles Blood Donors Association continues its mission with the same conviction: to foster solidarity and remind everyone that each donation can save a life.
