With the aim of engaging with elected officials and reinforcing its on-the-ground presence, the SIEA chose to relocate its union committee meeting to Oyonnax. The Valexpo venue hosted an evening on September 25th dedicated to discussions on the major energy and digital challenges facing the Ain region.
From 5 PM, a "service village" allowed elected officials to meet SIEA agents, discuss local projects, and participate in two workshops. These workshops focused on modernizing public lighting and exploring various fiber optic offers.
At 6:30 PM, the institutional meeting began with the SIEA's union committee. Members reviewed several structuring projects, notably governance, with the election of dedicated commissions (Public Service Delegation, Local Public Services, Energy Consultative Committees). Budgetary matters were also addressed, including modification decisions for the main budget and the annex budgets for "Electronic Communication" and "Réso LIAin."
The adoption of the activity reports for SEM LÉA and ALEC 01 was also on the agenda. A major topic concerned electronic communication: elected officials designated representatives for the Régie Liain and approved new fiber offers providing guaranteed speeds of 2, 4, and 8 Gbit/s, with a potential capacity of up to 10 Gbit/s in burst mode.
This relocated general assembly was a success, confirming SIEA's commitment to being close to elected officials and local territories. The union intends to continue this approach in its future general assemblies to foster exchanges on local concerns and major energy and digital issues.
