Each year, 1 million patients are treated thanks to blood donations. Every day in France, 10,000 donations are necessary to meet patient needs, including 1,400 for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. There is no substitute for blood, and blood products have a limited shelf life while needs are constant. A single blood donation can save 3 lives.
It is also possible to inquire about plasma donation with the EFS teams during the collection. Shuttles can take donors from the Meximieux collection point to the Bourg donation center for plasma donations. All information regarding this type of donation is available.
