Yesterday, Tuesday, September 29, a violent vegetation fire broke out in the Vorgines area, between Loyettes and Saint Maurice de Gourdans, ravaging about ten hectares.

Shortly before 1 p.m. yesterday, Tuesday, September 29, a significant vegetation fire started in the Vorgines area, affecting the communes of Loyettes and Saint Maurice de Gourdans. The intervention required the mobilization of 80 firefighters, about fifteen vehicles, a command post, a sanitary support unit, a drone, and a water-bombing helicopter.
Access to the site was difficult due to strong winds yesterday afternoon, complicating the efforts of the firefighters. Two hikers were evacuated. No civilian or firefighter casualties have been reported.
The fire is now contained. About fifteen firefighters remain on site to ensure its complete extinction. The commune of Loyettes expressed its deep gratitude to the firefighters for their commitment, as well as to gamekeeper Patrick Dien, local farmers, the technical services of the Commune of Loyettes, the Gendarmerie de l’Ain, and local businesses for their collaboration and logistical support.
