From November 1 to 30, 2026, the Centre Hospitalier Public d’Hauteville is participating in the "Mois sans tabac" (No Smoking Month), a collective smoking cessation challenge. The Espérance Unit, specializing in addiction treatment, offers various prevention activities for patients and staff.

"Mois sans tabac" returns from November 1 to 30, 2026. This collective challenge, supported by the Ministry of Health and Santé publique France in partnership with the Assurance Maladie, aims to encourage smokers to quit for 30 days. The Espérance Unit at the Centre Hospitalier Public d’Hauteville (CHPH), a major player in addiction treatment, is organizing various prevention activities for patients and staff.
The Espérance Unit, part of the GHT Bresse-Haut-Bugey, has 44 hospital beds and collaborates closely with the university addiction department of LYON SUAL-HCL and SUAL VINATIER for clinical research. Patients can be admitted for simple withdrawal (12 days) or addiction SMR stay (4 weeks).
During "Mois sans tabac", several awareness stands will be open from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the entrance halls of the CHPH's different sites: Albarine Unit (November 2-3), Inter Unit (November 4), and Espérance Unit (November 5). The program includes discussions, distribution of flyers and aid kits, information on nicotine replacement therapies, and videos on the risks of smoking, along with commitment bracelets.
A "Quit Smoking for November" challenge will be launched, with rewards for participants who maintain their cessation. Additional activities include a victory wall, CO2 tests, an Afghan walk, information workshops led by professionals (addiction specialists, psychologists, nutritionists), smoking cessation consultations, and psychological support by appointment. Muscle strengthening sessions are also offered by ASCAB.
A closing event is scheduled for Friday, November 27, to review participation, celebrate successful quitters, and award challenge prizes.
