From October 1st, professionals at the Centre Hospitalier de Bourg-en-Bresse mobilized for October Rose, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of prevention in the fight against breast cancer. Patients, visitors, and the general public were invited to meet healthcare professionals to discuss various prevention strategies.
The activities included workshops on self-examination to learn how to detect abnormalities, advice on adapted physical activity to maintain fitness, and recommendations on reading labels and maintaining a healthy diet. The presence of the Ligue contre le cancer (League Against Cancer) helped reinforce these preventive messages.
An exhibition on oncology within the hospital was also set up for the entire month of October. The CHB highlights its center of excellence, offering comprehensive, innovative, and personalized care. Weekly multidisciplinary consultations, bringing together oncologists, radiotherapists, and surgeons, ensure the most suitable treatment plan is developed for each patient.
Through the Clinical Research Unit, patients can access relevant clinical trials. The CHB collaborates closely with other regional institutions to leverage cutting-edge expertise. A 2026 satisfaction survey indicates that over 90% of patients express satisfaction with their involvement, and that of their loved ones, in decisions regarding their care.
The day concluded with a conference for healthcare professionals in the region, highlighting advancements in breast cancer care at the CHB.
