The City of Saint-Alban-Leysse is establishing neighborhood committees to strengthen resident participation in local life and foster exchanges with the municipality.

In a move to enhance citizen participation, the City of Saint-Alban-Leysse has created neighborhood committees. These spaces for dialogue, consultation, and proposals aim to foster exchanges between residents and the municipality, generate ideas, and collectively contribute to improving the living environment.
The committees will allow residents to voice the needs and expectations of their area, propose projects, and contribute to neighborhood animation. Their missions include gathering needs, discussing local issues, enhancing quality of life, generating and prioritizing proposals, and strengthening dialogue between citizens and the municipality.
The municipal territory is divided into six sectors to cover the entire commune: Centre-Bourg – central perimeter, Centre-Bourg – North, Centre-Bourg – South, Leysse, Clusaz, and Monterminod. Each committee will work closely with the realities of its neighborhood while considering the overall municipal challenges.
Composed of residents from the concerned neighborhood, each committee will have between 8 and 14 members. Two referents will be appointed by the municipal executive: one elected official and one non-elected member. The committees will meet at least once or twice a year, with organizational freedom to set agendas, organize working groups, and formalize proposals.
Proposals from the committees will follow a multi-step process: local development, municipal review (technical, legal, financial feasibility), decision by the municipal executive, and finally, project follow-up with committee information. This approach aims to maintain ongoing dialogue between residents and the municipality.
These committees are based on essential principles: the general interest, neutrality (no proselytism), transparency in information, transversality (considering broader municipal issues), and responsibility (active and respectful involvement).
Residents from the six sectors interested in participating, sharing ideas, or contributing to discussions about their neighborhood's future are invited to express their interest to the city. For more information or to express their desire to participate, they can write to communication@saintalbanleysse.fr or consult the documents available on the town hall's website.
