Facing increasing difficulties in year-round housing, particularly for homeownership, the Val Cenis municipality has identified seven priority areas for the construction of primary residences across its five villages. To ensure projects are suitable, a questionnaire is now open to everyone.
This anonymous survey, taking 5 to 10 minutes to complete, aims to determine the most appropriate project type for each zone. Three options are being considered: building plots where individuals buy land and build their own homes; homes for first-time buyers within a commune-supervised program; or homes under a solidarity land lease (BRS), where the land is owned by a solidarity land organization, allowing for a significantly lower purchase price in exchange for a monthly fee. This scheme has income ceilings, and resale prices are regulated to maintain accessibility.
All individuals with a project, even a distant one, to become a primary residence owner in Val Cenis are invited to respond. This includes current residents, those who work in Val Cenis but live elsewhere due to housing shortages, and young people from the area wishing to settle or return.
Responses will be analyzed between January and early March 2027 to help the commune select projects that best meet expressed needs. It is important to note that completing this survey does not constitute a housing application, reservation, or purchase commitment. Access conditions for future housing will be detailed later.
