Throughout the month of October, the municipality of Sourcieux-les-Mines is mobilizing for Octobre Rose. Several events are proposed to raise awareness, inform, and support actions related to breast cancer.
On Saturday, October 3rd, the APBF is organizing a fishing morning for women at the Bassin de la Falconnière starting at 9:30 AM. The participation fee of €5 will be donated to the association Courir pour Elles. Equipment will be provided, and a fried fish aperitif is planned. Registrations can be made by email at communication@sourcieuxlesmines.fr, with payment on-site in cash (please bring exact change). The number of places is limited.
On Saturdays, October 17th and 24th, the Marché Bonne Mine will host a sale of items for Courir pour Elles. The Ferme des Crostichons will also offer 50 pink heart-shaped cheeses, with all proceeds donated to support women affected by cancer. These two mornings will also be an opportunity to register for the Marche pour Elles on October 25th.
On Sunday, October 25th, a Marche pour Elles (Walk for Them) is organized starting from the Bibost football stadium. The meeting point is at 10 AM for a 5 km walk to the Bassin de la Falconnière. The participation fee is €15, entirely donated to the association Courir pour Elles. Registrations are possible by email (communication@sourcieuxlesmines.fr), on the day of the departure by check payable to ASSM or in cash, or during the markets on October 17th and 24th. A longer hike will start from Saint-Pierre-la-Palud.
Throughout October, the media library will be decorated in pink and will offer a selection of books and resources on health, prevention, and breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of screening.
