Following an email from the director of the Collège La Sidoine dated September 11, highlighting overcrowded buses and students left behind due to lack of seats, the Town Hall of Quincieux acted swiftly. The Mayor contacted the office of Ms. Véronique Sarselli, president of the Metropole de Lyon and SYTRAL Mobilités.
An initial experimental solution, proposed on September 16, involved removing the 'Quincieux Mairie' stop from the JD898 route. However, the municipality raised concerns about potential shifts to nearby stops and difficulties for children from hamlets.
After further exchanges and the consistent relaying of family testimonials by the municipality, SYTRAL Mobilités confirmed on September 23 the introduction of an additional bus. This reinforcement will be effective from Monday, September 28.
This annual financial commitment of 65,500 euros aims to enhance the safety and travel conditions for young residents of Quincieux. The town hall expresses gratitude to the SYTRAL Mobilités teams, the college director, and the families for their engagement.
