The École Normale Supérieure de Lyon has welcomed over 80 international students from around twenty countries for the 2026-2027 semester, marking a start to the academic year rich in cultural exchange.

At the beginning of the 2026-2027 semester, ENS de Lyon received more than 80 international students from approximately twenty nations. The International Relations Department (DRI) organized an orientation program in late August, featuring intensive French courses, practical information sessions, and social gatherings.
These new arrivals, hailing from countries including China, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and Sweden, enhance the diversity of exchanges within the institution, solidifying its role as a hub for cultural and academic encounters.
During a welcome reception on October 12th, the School's president, Emmanuel Trizac, presented the history, values, and future projects of ENS de Lyon. The Vice-President for International Relations, Vanessa Guignery, highlighted the institution's commitment to international scientific and educational collaborations.
“

"The only true voyage of discovery, [...] would not be in visiting new countries, but in having new eyes, in seeing the universe through the eyes of another [...]."

Vanessa Guignery · Vice-President for International Relations
Drawing inspiration from a quote by Marcel Proust, Vanessa Guignery encouraged students to leverage their stay to explore novel ways of thinking, learning, and understanding the world, thereby transcending geographical and intellectual boundaries.
