Eau du Grand Lyon has published the water quality analysis results for the third quarter of 2026, focusing on PFAS and TFA in the Lyon metropolitan area.

Eau du Grand Lyon has released water quality statistics for each served municipality, concerning PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) and TFA (trifluoroacetic acid) for Q3 2026. These data stem from a dual control system: internal by Eau du Grand Lyon and independent by the Regional Health Agency (ARS).
A total of 43 analysis campaigns were conducted across the entire metropolitan area. PFAS, with a regulatory threshold of 0.1 micrograms per liter (µg/L) for the sum of 20 targeted perfluorinated compounds, showed generally very low concentrations, well below this limit for most of the territory. Specific details are provided for sectors like Solaize, Jonage, Meyzieu, Marcy-l’Etoile, Lissieu, Quincieux, La-Tour-de-Salvagny, Givors, Grigny, and Charly-Privas, explaining the measurements and ongoing work for activated carbon filter installation.
Regarding TFA, a micropollutant not currently regulated in France, Eau du Grand Lyon has implemented systematic monitoring since summer 2024. Pending conclusions from ANSES and the WHO, measurements follow the German health value. Observed concentrations show stagnation over the last three quarters, remaining generally low.
The agency reminds that water supplied to the municipalities of Givors, Grigny, and Solaize became compliant again in early 2026 following the installation of new filters at the Ternay production plant. Similar work is ongoing throughout 2026 for other sectors to meet regulatory standards.
