The municipality of Saint-Germain-Nuelles is preparing to submit an official request for recognition of natural disaster status related to drought, scheduled for the end of 2026. Citizens who have suffered damages due to this drought are strongly urged to contact their insurance company promptly.
It is also crucial to report these damages to the town hall without delay. These individual reports are essential to support the municipal request to the competent authorities and strengthen the application for natural disaster status recognition.
Should the prefecture issue a decree recognizing the municipality as being in a state of natural disaster due to drought for the year 2026, this decision would be officially published in the Journal Officiel in April 2027. Residents who have filed a declaration with the town hall would then be individually informed and would have 30 days to contact their insurer. Additional communication will be made on social networks, as is customary.
A document to be completed and submitted to the town hall is available as an attachment. It is not necessary to include photos at this stage.
