The City of Corbas is launching a series of safety prevention actions, with a particular focus on the use of electric scooters and other EDPMs, especially targeting young people.

The municipality of Corbas has initiated a prevention program aimed at better educating and protecting its citizens, particularly young people and adolescents, on various safety-related topics. The first initiative focuses on safety during the use of electric scooters and other motorized personal mobility devices (EDPMs).
Two events are scheduled to inform users: on Monday, November 2nd, starting at 7:30 AM, near the René Cassin college, and on Wednesday, November 4th, from 2:00 PM, during Municipal Police patrols. During these meetings, officers will remind users of best practices, explain traffic rules, and raise awareness about accident risks.
A prefectural decree now regulates the use of EDPMs. The use of a helmet and a high-visibility vest or reflective equipment is mandatory for riders, both day and night, on all roads open to traffic, including cycle paths. It is also reminded that to ride an EDPM, one must be at least 14 years old, be insured, not exceed 25 km/h, ride alone (one person per EDPM), and ensure the device is compliant. Non-compliance with these rules can result in fines of up to €135.
The municipality emphasizes that prevention is essential to avoid accidents and protect all road users. In Corbas, on-the-ground action is prioritized to inform, raise awareness, and enhance everyone's safety.
