The Communauté de Communes du Pays de L'Arbresle launched construction in the spring for a new wastewater treatment plant in Bibost, intended to replace the aging facility from 1987.

The current plant, commissioned in 1987 and partially renovated in 2002, no longer meets current regulatory requirements and the needs related to the increase in the number of inhabitants connected to the network.
The new facility will enable more efficient wastewater treatment thanks to a two-stage reed bed filter system. It will meet the needs of the Bourg sector and the future connection of the Planin hamlet, while contributing to preserving the quality of the Conan river, located nearby.
The new plant is scheduled to be operational in the spring of 2027. The CCPA will then be responsible for its operation.
The total cost of the works amounts to €700,000, financed by the CCPA with €452,500 and a grant from the Rhône Méditerranée Corse Water Agency of €247,500.
