This Tuesday, October 13th, 6th-grade students at Audembron college in Thiers participated in the election of their class delegates, a democratic exercise overseen by municipal officials and teachers.

It is with enthusiasm that the elected officials of the City of Thiers responded to the invitation of the management of Audembron college to accompany the 6th-grade students in learning citizenship: the election of their class delegates!
Six 6th-grade classes participated in this genuine democratic exercise, organized under conditions close to an official ballot. The City of Thiers provided ballot boxes and voting booths, thanks to the municipal technical services.
The young middle schoolers fully played the game, taking on the roles of polling station presidents, assessors, and scrutineers. In some classes, four pairs were candidates, sometimes requiring a second round to decide between them. Applause greeted each election.
For the municipal officials present, it was a moving and exciting moment, reminding them that citizenship is also learned through practice. Beyond voting, the students discovered the importance of making their voices heard, respecting others' choices, and representing their classmates.
Congratulations to the elected delegates, such as Amine or Laura, as well as the 4 other delegates and 6 substitutes. A big thank you to the management, the mobilized teachers, and particularly to Mmes Garabedian-Marechal (CPE) and M. Livet (history-geography-EMC teacher), for their support.
