The Safeguarding and Development Plan (PSMV), which governs works, renovations, changes of use, and refurbishments in the old town of Thiers — an area of approximately 28 hectares comprising 600 buildings and 1,400 dwellings — is nearing completion. This project, initiated over 20 years ago by ministerial decision and adopted by the previous municipality, is being taken up by the current administration elected in 2026 to be brought to fruition.
For any additional information on this project, you can contact the project managers at the DRAC AURA: Mr. Régis DELUBAC (regis.delubac@culture.gouv.fr) and Mr. Frédéric SANIAL (frederic.sanial@culture.gouv.fr).
The public inquiry is the final stage where everyone can express their point of view, whether favorable, reserved, or critical. All observations will be examined by Ms. Brigitte Floret, an independent inquiry commissioner.
To participate in the inquiry, the register is available at the town hall during opening hours. Permanences with Ms. Brigitte Floret will be held at the town hall on Wednesdays, October 21 (9 am-12 pm), Thursdays, October 29 (2 pm-5 pm), Fridays, November 6 (2 pm-5 pm), and Mondays, November 16 (9 am-12 pm). Observations can also be sent by mail to: « Enquête publique PSMV Thiers », Mairie, 1 rue François-Mitterrand, 63300 Thiers, or by email to pref-enquetes-publiques-environnement@puy-de-dome.gouv.fr. The deadline for participation is set for Monday, November 16, 2026, at 12 p.m.
