Following incidents and concerns reported to the town hall involving dogs not kept on a leash, the municipality of Mozac has decided to strengthen regulations. A new by-law, dated October 15, 2026, now mandates that dogs must be leashed on all public roads and spaces in the commune, including streets, parks, paths, and the Ambène stream area, where a specific by-law already existed.
The by-law also prohibits the wandering of animals. Stray animals may be taken to a pound, with costs borne by their owner. Violations of these new rules will be subject to penalties.
The town of Mozac urges pet owners to comply with these new regulations to ensure the safety and tranquility of everyone. Furthermore, the municipality has announced that it will initiate discussions to propose a "dog freedom area" within the commune.
