The SMTC officially inaugurated its new headquarters on Friday, October 16, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the syndicate's history and its commitment to a modern workplace for metropolitan mobility management.

This development, coinciding with the syndicate's fiftieth anniversary, reflects the ambition to provide a high-performing work environment tailored to the teams responsible for organizing mobility across the metropolitan area.
Designed to the latest standards for energy efficiency and workspace quality, the new headquarters now brings all SMTC agents together on a single site. The layout is intended to support new professional practices and foster teamwork, featuring collaborative spaces, meeting rooms, remote communication equipment, and social and dining areas.
The new headquarters is accessible to people with reduced mobility, offering adapted audio facilities, including magnetic induction loops (BIM), at its counters and meeting rooms.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable figures including Éric Egli, President of the SMTC, Julien Bony, Mayor of Clermont-Ferrand, Hervé Prononce, President of Clermont Auvergne Métropole, and Étienne de La Fouchardière, Secretary General of the Puy-de-Dôme prefecture. Syndicate committee members, institutional partners, participating companies, and SMTC agents and their families were also present.
This symbolic event highlighted the collective effort that made this project a reality, from its conception in consultation with staff to its operational launch. This new sustainable facility is set to support the SMTC's ongoing work for the residents and territories of the Clermont metropolitan area.
