The Thiers Dore et Montagne (TDM) community is participating in the Living Soil Festival, from October 3 to 18, by offering free wood chips at its recycling centers.

The event, initiated by the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Citizen Compost Network, aims to raise awareness about natural gardening practices, reducing garden waste, and valorizing organic waste. This year, TDM is providing wood chips free of charge at its recycling centers in Thiers, Puy-Guillaume, Courpière, and St-Rémy-sur-Durolle.
The recycling centers are open Monday to Saturday, from 9:15 AM to 12 PM and from 1:30 PM to 5:15 PM. Wood chips are a soil amendment that helps limit soil drying, fertilizes it, and acts as a natural shield. It also allows for the reduction of garden waste by valorizing branches on-site.
The Community of Communes also offers a free shredding service. For more information, contact 04.73.53.93.08.
