The municipality of Ceyrat is launching the election for its 12th Youth Municipal Council (CMJ), a body enabling young people to actively participate in local life and bring their ideas to fruition.

The CMJ, renewed for its 12th term, aims to give a voice to Ceyrat's youth. The councillors, elected for two years, will be responsible for proposing ideas, working on concrete projects for the municipality, and participating in municipal events, particularly those promoting republican and civic values.
The composition of the new council will be: 6 students from the elementary school of Ceyrat (3 girls, 3 boys), 6 students from the elementary school of Boisséjour (3 girls, 3 boys), and 6 middle school students from Henri Pourrat college (3 girls, 3 boys). Elected members can form thematic commissions to develop their proposals, which will then be discussed and implemented with the support of municipal councillors and town services. The CMJ will meet approximately 8 times a year.
Becoming a CMJ member offers the opportunity to propose ideas, collaborate with other young people, learn about the municipality's functioning, and actively participate in civic life.
Eligible voters include all young people in CE2, CM1, CM2 attending Ceyrat and Boisséjour elementary schools, as well as 6th and 5th grade students from Henri Pourrat college, provided they reside in Ceyrat. Candidates must be in CM1, CM2 or 6th, 5th grade and live in the municipality. Candidacy and voter registration forms are available at the town hall, after-school care centers, and the college's student services office.
Key dates to remember are November 13th for the deadline for submitting candidacies, and December 3rd for the elections and vote counting at the town hall. Elementary school students will vote during school hours, while middle school students will vote at the town hall from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
