The municipality of Saint-Jean-Bonnefonds is hosting the second edition of its black and white photography festival at the Maison du Passementier.

For its second edition, the municipality of Saint-Jean-Bonnefonds is organizing a photography festival themed around black and white at the Maison du Passementier. Professional and amateur photographers will present their work, offering visual journeys across the globe, from the Americas to Armenia, including France. This year, 'off-field' exhibitions are featured at the museum and media library, providing a new perspective on the Stéphanois territory.
Among the featured exhibitions, Etienne Boutchakdjian presents « Au pied d’Ararat » from September 02 to September 30, an intimate journey and portrait of a country in transition. Young photographer Madeline Chauve showcases « Entre ombre et lumière » from October 04 to October 30, sublimating the living world through contemplative shots. Professional Stéphanois photographer Niko Rodamel exhibits « A.M.E.R.I.C.A » from November 03 to November 27, offering a sensitive look at streets across the Atlantic.
The 'off-field' exhibitions include « Empreintes du territoire » by Marie Dumas, a sensitive exploration of the region using cyanotypes with residents of EHPADs, from September 08 to October 06 at the Maison du Passementier workshop-museum. The artist collective Groupe de travail 42 presents « 42° », blending scientific and artistic approaches to observe the Stéphanois mining heritage, from December 06 to December 23 at the Maison du Passementier workshop-museum.
Finally, a photographic exhibition from the « Léon Leponce » archive fund will be on display at the media library from December 01 to December 31, and at the Maison du Passementier workshop-museum from December 06 to December 23. These shots on the theme of mining are presented in partnership with the municipal archives of Saint-Etienne.
