A delegation from Mines Saint-Étienne visited six Japanese universities during an exceptional trip this autumn. The exchanges, focused on scientific cooperation, double degrees, and research collaborations, proved highly promising.
The French engineering school met with its Japanese partners, including Kyutech (Kyushu Institute of Technology), Kumamoto University, Tohoku University, and Keio University, with whom double degree projects were finalized.
Broader scientific cooperation is planned with Kyutech and Tohoku University, particularly around biomedical engineering projects led by Vincent Augusto and Marius Huguet. Additionally, a research collaboration is being prepared with Yokohama University concerning Jean-Michel Herri's work on decarbonization.
Jacques Fayolle, Director of Mines Saint-Étienne, emphasized the importance of these vibrant relationships that yield concrete results, such as student mobility and the development of new joint research projects.
On the sidelines of these exchanges, Jacques Fayolle attended the General Assembly of the T.I.M.E network (Top International Managers of Engineering), which brings together leading engineering schools and technical universities. The 60 institutions present at Doshisha University participated in workshops and networking sessions.
This trip allows Mines Saint-Étienne to enhance its international attractiveness and promote its areas of excellence.
