The municipality of La Talaudière is launching a census of homes with cracks caused by the summer drought. Affected residents have until Friday, October 16th to report to the town hall.

Have cracks appeared on the walls of your house since this summer? Drought may be the cause. The municipality of La Talaudière is currently registering affected homes to request recognition of a state of natural disaster. Concerned residents of La Talaudière have until Friday, October 16th to report to the town hall.
Long periods without rain can cause the ground under homes to shift, resulting in cracks, most often on exterior walls, but sometimes inside as well. Several residents have already reported such damage after this summer's drought. For these damages to be covered by insurance, the state of natural disaster must first be recognized by the State. The municipality makes this request and needs to know the number of households concerned to build a solid case.
To be registered, residents must visit the town hall by Friday, October 16th and provide the following information: full name, address, phone number, email address, and the nature of the damage observed (exterior cracks, interior cracks, etc.).
The town hall of La Talaudière, located at Place Jean Moulin, is open for this census from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 12 PM and 1:30 PM to 5 PM. You can also contact the town hall at 04 77 53 92 00 or register directly online via their website.
Once the census is complete, the municipality will submit its request for natural disaster status recognition. If accepted, an inter-ministerial decree will be published in the Official Journal. From this publication, affected individuals will have a maximum of 30 days to declare their claim to their insurance company. After this deadline, compensation under natural disaster status may no longer be possible.
