The new multi-purpose hall in Salaise-sur-Sanne, scheduled to open in late 2027, will officially be named « L'Affiche », following extensive citizen consultation and a Municipal Council deliberation.

After receiving 120 entries and 76 name proposals, the name for the future multi-purpose hall in Salaise-sur-Sanne has been officially chosen. The selected name, « L’Affiche », was formalized by a Municipal Council resolution on Thursday, October 15th, after a vote involving multiple generations of citizens, the Children's Municipal Council, the Friendship Club, neighbourhood councils, and elected officials.
This name references the world of performance arts, but also « L’Affiche rouge » (The Red Poster), a symbol of the French Resistance during World War II, notably associated with the Manouchian Group and Missak Manouchian. Mayor Gilles Vial emphasized in his speech that this name evokes sharing, invitation, and collective memory.
« L’Affiche » aims to be a place open to all, reflecting the commune's commitment to collective construction and unity. The mayor stressed that culture is a shared endeavour that teaches respect for others and transmits values of work, struggle, and solidarity, inherited from the Resistance.
« L’Affiche », this venue, is the face of what we want to be. An open place, where live performance, music, theatre, celebrations, associations, and families will have their space. A place for meeting, sharing, and culture. A place that reminds us of where we come from — work, struggle, solidarity — and announces what we want to become: a commune that brings together, welcomes, and transmits », stated Gilles Vial.
