Following the Heritage Days, the municipal school restaurant in Saint-Siméon-de-Bressieux was honored with a special mention at the Departmental Award for Wood Construction Isère. The distinction was awarded at the Musée Dauphinois.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Bernard Madinier, Vice-President of the Department for rurality, agriculture, and forestry, Ms. Annick Guichard-Greangeot, President of CAUE and departmental councilor, and Mr. Thomas Jenft, President of FIBOIS Isère. A tour of the museum, led by its director Mr. Olivier Cogne, allowed attendees to discover the exhibition dedicated to Hache furniture, showcasing the link between historical craftsmanship and sustainable architecture.
This award celebrates the collective effort of all involved in the project, including elected officials and public service representatives such as Mr. Descours (former environmental councilor), Ms. Lecharpentier (Territorial Forestry Technician of Bas-Dauphiné), and Ms. Alfonseda-Habran (current councilor delegated to the environment). The professionals involved include carpentry company Proponnet, architecture firm Normandon et Jardin, structural engineering company ECZ (charpente), and sawmill Forest.
This achievement highlights short supply chains, eco-responsible construction, and the improved living environment for the children of Saint-Siméon-de-Bressieux.
