As part of its waste reduction and circular economy development policy, Vienne Condrieu Agglomération is strengthening its commitment to reuse and recycling by continuing to deploy new recovery channels within its recycling centers. Each year, many sports and leisure equipment items reach the end of their use while they can still be repaired, reused, or recycled. The Agglomeration is now deploying a new channel dedicated to Sports and Leisure Articles (ASL) in 2 of its recycling centers (Vienne and Villette-de-Vienne).
From November 1, 2026, residents of the territory will have a simple and accessible solution to give a second life to all these items. The range of accepted equipment is extremely broad and includes, among other things, cycles and mobility (non-electric bikes, scooters), water and outdoor activities (surfboards, camping tents, fishing rods), ball and mountain sports (skis, snowboards, rackets), equestrian equipment (helmets, saddles), fitness and weight training (dumbbells, mats), as well as protective equipment (helmets, knee pads).
However, certain items such as sports clothing and shoes must be deposited in the dedicated bins for Textiles, Household Linen, and Shoes (TLC). Similarly, electrical or electronic equipment, such as electric scooters or connected devices, must be deposited in specific channels.
Collected items will be sorted: items in good condition can be reused, while those that are out of order will be dismantled to recover their materials. This organization, carried out in partnership with the approved eco-organization Ecologic, aims to promote the reuse, repair, and recycling of used sports and leisure equipment to limit their disposal and preserve natural resources.
