Committed to preservation and sustainable management, Bièvre Isère is participating in the third edition of the « Les Forestivités » festival. This event, running from October 18 to November 1, 2026, aims to help residents better understand the forest environment, its professions, and the challenges it faces.
Organized by Fibois Isère and the Association des communes forestières de l’Isère, the festival invites people of all ages to explore the forest ecosystem through numerous free activities. Several highlights are planned within the community of communes' territory.
The wooden games area, crafted by schoolchildren from the Chambaran region, will be available for families and friends on Wednesday, October 21 in La Frette and on Wednesday, October 28 in Saint-Jean de Bournay, from 10 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM.
A guided walk 'the forest at dusk' is offered on Thursday, October 22 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the sensitive natural area of the Tourbière des Planchettes in Saint-Pierre de Bressieux. Registration is mandatory via phone or email.
The 'Rand’eau agricole : édition forêt' (Agricultural Water Walk: Forest Edition) will take place on Sunday, October 25 in Thodure, featuring 3 and 6-kilometer loops to meet agricultural and forestry stakeholders and discover water resource protection practices. Two departure times are available at 9 AM or 10 AM. Online registration is mandatory.
Company visits will allow participants to discover the wood industry of the Bonnevaux region. The program includes a visit to the communal boiler room in Beauvoir de Marc on Friday, October 30 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by a visit to the transformation site Rolland Bois/Bois Energie Services in Oytier-Saint-Oblas from 4 PM to 6 PM. Closed-toe shoes are required.
With over 20,000 hectares spread across the Bonnevaux and Chambaran massifs, the forest plays a crucial role in the Bièvre Isère territory. The festival highlights its multiple functions: wood production, landscape preservation, biodiversity support, carbon storage, water filtration, and recreational spaces.
Preserving this multifunctionality is central to the missions of the two Forest Charters: the Chambaran Charter (supported by several intercommunalities) and the Bas-Dauphiné and Bonnevaux Charter (supported by several intercommunalities). These actions are carried out in collaboration with numerous local stakeholders such as the National Forestry Office and Fibois.
Les Forestivités are also part of an ongoing year-round awareness campaign, including educational activities for schools to introduce younger generations to the local forests, forestry professions, and the major environmental challenges related to their preservation.
