The Communauté de communes Le Grésivaudan has launched a vast energy renovation program for its 21 main buildings, aiming for a 60% reduction in their consumption by 2050.

In accordance with the Tertiary Decree, stemming from the ELAN law, which mandates a reduction in the energy consumption of tertiary buildings over 1,000 m², Le Grésivaudan has embarked on an ambitious initiative. This decree affects 21 buildings within the intercommunal area, including swimming pools, EHPADs, the Digital Workshop, Les Ramayes Holiday Village, and gymnasiums, which account for 71% of its total energy consumption.
The objective is to reduce the consumption of these structures by 60% by 2050, with intermediate targets of minus 40% by 2030 and minus 50% by 2040. However, Le Grésivaudan has chosen to carry out the renovation work holistically to reach the final target sooner. Following a diagnostic phase launched in 2023, work has commenced.
To date, 10 out of the 21 identified buildings have already met the targets set for the 2030 decade. The consumption of the property portfolio covered by the Tertiary Decree has thus been reduced by nearly 20%. Efforts are ongoing, notably with the thermal renovation projects for the EHPAD Belle Vallée and the Les Ramayes holiday center, which are scheduled for completion in 2027. These works are expected to further improve these figures and the comfort of their users.
Key figures show a reference consumption before renovation of 172.2 kWh/m² for all buildings, and a projected post-renovation consumption of 138 kWh/m² for 2025.
