The Bièvre Isère community council met on September 28 in Saint-Étienne de Saint-Geoirs, addressing 28 points including public service reports, the intercommunal house project, and aid for associations.

The Bièvre Isère community council convened on Monday, September 28, in Saint-Étienne de Saint-Geoirs. Elected officials reviewed 28 agenda items, spanning areas such as water, sanitation, waste management, housing, and support for associations.
Annual reports on public services were presented. For drinking water, Bièvre Isère now serves 29,402 subscribers, with a network efficiency of 71% and a compliance rate close to 99%. Collective sanitation efforts included connecting the northern territory to the Vienne Condrieu Agglomération treatment network, extending services to Longechenal, and rehabilitating treatment plants in Culin, Villeneuve de Marc, and Roybon. Wastewater treatment processed 1.81 million cubic meters. Regarding individual sanitation, 78.3% of the 14,598 inspected systems are compliant.
Waste collection is evolving with the rollout of new voluntary drop-off points, now implemented in 46 out of 50 communes. Initial results show an increase in sorted packaging and glass recycling, while household waste decreased by 4% to 10,743 tons. Per capita waste production has also fallen to 185.5 kg annually.
The activity report from the development council, composed of local residents, was presented. This participatory body provided opinions on the Trajectoire 2030 action plan, the territory's tourism strategy, and the revision of the Schéma de cohérence territoriale (SCoT).
The Maison de l'intercommunalité (intercommunal house) project, planned for La Côte Saint-André as part of « Trajectoire 2030 », aims to rationalize buildings and reduce energy consumption and costs. The launch of the design competition for the project was approved, marking a significant step forward.
In Saint-Jean de Bournay, 14 new social rental housing units are planned by Alpes Isère Habitat, with an investment of 2.54 million euros. Bièvre Isère will contribute 42,000 euros to this operation.
Funding was approved for several associations: 80,000 euros for the Mission locale de la Bièvre, which assisted 813 young people in 2025; 58,000 euros for the Association d’Aide Alimentaire en Bièvre Isère (3ABI), supporting approximately 150 families; and continued support for the territory's associative music schools.
