The City of Rumilly has reinforced public tranquility and safety measures in several public spaces since October 1, 2026, applicable between 8 PM and 3 AM until April 1, 2027.

In response to noise pollution, dangerous behavior, and vandalism observed in certain areas, a municipal decree now regulates gatherings and occupation of public spaces during nighttime hours. These measures aim to prevent disturbances to public tranquility and risks to people and property.
The areas affected by these restrictions, active between 8 PM and 3 AM, include the Albanais gymnasium parking lot (55 route du Clergeon), the Philippe-Perron promenade, Grenette Square, the Old Town Square (rue Charles-de-Gaulle), Sainte-Agathe Square, the Gare Square (1 avenue Gantin), and the Chemin des Écoliers.
The decree specifically targets repeated noise disturbances (shouting, barking, loud music), dangerous driving (motorized stunts), waste disposal, damage to public and private spaces, and the use of fireworks and pyrotechnic devices. Gatherings of three or more people are not prohibited in themselves, but are if they cause disturbances.
The municipal police and the national gendarmerie will ensure compliance with these provisions. The video surveillance system may also be used for prevention and detection of offenses. The objective is to preserve the living environment, safety, and tranquility of all residents. Infractions will be prosecuted in accordance with current legislation.
