On Thursday, October 22, 2026, officials and technicians from Loire-Semène and Saint-Didier-en-Velay launched the development project for the Régis Vidal space, focusing on environmental preservation and new facilities.

This Thursday, October 22, 2026, a launch meeting was held between elected officials and technicians from Loire-Semène and Saint-Didier-en-Velay regarding the development of the Régis Vidal space. A site visit allowed for discussions on the future amenities.
Initially planned for the upper part of the site, the project was adapted following the discovery of a wetland area. To preserve this natural space, developments will primarily focus on the lower part, near the tennis courts and the fishing pond, thus balancing leisure activities with environmental protection.
Key planned developments include the creation of a pump track for bikes and scooters on the former basketball court, as well as a new 3x3 basketball court near the football field. The project also involves renewing children's play equipment, installing a spiderweb-type structure for older children, and creating adventure course-inspired huts above the fishing pond.
Beyond sports facilities, the redevelopment of the Régis Vidal space aims to enhance its appeal as a place for walks, relaxation, and social gatherings. Landscaping improvements include installing benches, renewing picnic tables, and creating a green amphitheater. A 49-space parking lot is also planned to facilitate public access, while maintaining access to the fishing pond.
Led by the Communauté de Communes Loire-Semène and the municipality of Saint-Didier-en-Velay, this project represents a projected investment of approximately 700,000 euros. The goal is to make the Régis Vidal space a more attractive, accessible, and age-appropriate outdoor leisure destination while preserving its environmental qualities.
