This renewal of the public service delegation (DSP) offers medium-term visibility and an essential support for the association Les Aires. In a context of uncertainty for the cultural sector, the lasting relationship with the City of Die is considered a major strength by its director, Mathieu Dardé.
The new period will allow the continuation of the missions of a Conventioned Scene of National Interest 'Art in Territory,' focusing on dissemination, cultural action, and support for creation. Emphasis will also be placed on strengthening the Theater's presence between Die and the villages of Diois, through programming from October to June and the festivals L’Échappée des Rues and F(r)iction du Réel.
Major challenges also concern building renovations, particularly adaptation to heatwaves and the reopening of the currently inaccessible dressing room. It will be necessary to find an economic and human model adapted to current resources, while continuing to foster connection and emotion.
Opening up to new audiences remains a priority. After good attendance and a loyal audience, the association seeks to engage new people through innovative projects, such as the partnership established with the Departmental Federation of Hunting of Drôme. The search for new alliances is an ongoing effort to include more people.
The Theater plans to support artists from Diois through rehearsals or programming their shows, and to help them connect with other programmers via professional networks. With associations, the idea is to keep the door open for various collaborations, from projects built directly with the Theater to one-off partnerships.
An important evolution in this new DSP concerns the Theater's availabilities. A joint commission between the City and Les Aires will meet twice a year to review requests based on shared criteria, aiming to balance accessibility for associations and schools with the Theater's economic reality.
Work with schools, an essential mission, is weakened by budget cuts. The association wishes to continue collaborations with the Cité scolaire and broaden its relationships to all teachers and disciplines, including at the primary level.
Mathieu Dardé highlights three reasons to visit the Theater: it is a significant place in the territory, a space where one can get involved as a volunteer, a place where culture participates in democratic life by creating emotions and enabling reflection, and finally, a place of conviviality that fosters social connection.
