The City of Die and the Free Commune of Saint Marcel invite food lovers to a pie contest on Saturday, October 3rd, celebrating autumn flavors.

As part of the Autumn and Agriculture Fair, a friendly pie contest is being held in Die. The event will highlight autumn flavors and products, encouraging participants to unleash their creativity with ingredients like apples, pears, quinces, walnuts, chestnuts, honey, or spices.
Pies, whether sweet or savory, must strictly adhere to the autumn theme. The contest is free and open to everyone, adults and children alike, on an individual basis. Each participant may submit only one pie, made entirely by themselves.
Pies can be submitted on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at the Place de l’Évêché, between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. The results will be announced at 5:30 PM.
To ensure the most anonymous tasting possible, each pie will be assigned a number upon submission. A jury will evaluate the presentation, crust, baking, texture, taste, flavor balance, originality, and adherence to the theme. Three winners will be awarded, with the possibility of special prizes.
Participants are also asked to declare any major allergens present in their preparation. This event is an invitation to share culinary creations and celebrate the flavors of autumn in Die together.
