The Ardèche des Sources et Volcans intercommunal community has launched a new meeting format with its very first itinerant council meeting, held in Péreyres. This initiative aims to relocate the council's meetings to various municipalities within the territory. For this inaugural event, Georges Bonnet, the mayor of Péreyres, warmly welcomed the council members.
During this visit, the elected officials explored the 'La Myrtilleraie' goat farm. This operation specializes in the production and sale of artisanal goat cheeses, made from the milk of a herd of Alpine goats.
The establishment also offers a range of derivative products, including jams, compotes, soups, and chutneys. These are prepared using fruits and vegetables grown without insecticides in gardens located on the 'faysses', terraces characteristic of the Ardèche landscape.
Situated between the Cévennes and the Montagne Ardéchoise, 'La Myrtilleraie' also provides accommodation in bed and breakfasts or one of its two gîtes for visitors.
Marion Houetz, President of the intercommunal community, along with all the council members, expressed their gratitude to Georges Bonnet for his welcome and to the Gros family for a visit described as 'rich in flavors and encounters'. They also commended the commitment to local, authentic, and territory-respecting agriculture.
