Nearly 500 seniors from Ardèche gathered on Thursday, October 8th, in Guilherand-Granges for "Tiss'âge de liens", a departmental event focused on healthy aging, prevention, and combating isolation.

Nearly 500 seniors from Ardèche met on Thursday, October 8th, at the Agora in Guilherand-Granges for "Tiss'âge de liens", an event organized by the Department of Ardèche. This free event aimed to offer residents aged 60 and over a special time for information, discovery, physical activity, and conviviality, aligning with the departmental policy to support the autonomy of the elderly and maintain social connections.
Olivier Amrane, President of the Department, accompanied by Vice-Presidents Christian Féroussier and Sylvie Gaucher, praised the participants' mobilization and highlighted the importance of supporting seniors in their daily lives. Sylvie Gaucher, also the mayor of Guilherand-Granges, was present.
The day featured numerous activities promoting autonomy and well-being, such as hiking, cycling, line dancing, gentle chair exercises, and "rigolo-therapy" workshops. Information and prevention booths, supported by many partners, addressed essential topics like nutrition, memory, and health.
Beyond the activities, "Tiss'âge de liens" primarily facilitated encounters and exchanges between residents, associations, professionals, and local stakeholders involved with seniors. This departmental gathering contributes to combating isolation and maintaining an active social life for the elderly.
The day concluded with a musical and poetic show by the Frères Fox, followed by a banquet featuring Ardèche flavors and a film debate on the challenges of healthy aging. The Department of Ardèche thus reaffirms its commitment to its seniors.
