Starting November 1st, 2026, the Vichy Hospital Center will officially adopt the 'Smoke-Free Health Venue' (LSST) initiative, prohibiting smoking on its grounds and pathways.

The Vichy Hospital Center is strengthening its commitment to prevention and health by becoming a 'Smoke-Free Health Venue' as of November 1st, 2026. This initiative, financially supported by the Regional Health Agency (ARS), is part of a call for projects and coincides with the launch of 'Mois sans tabac' (No Smoking Month).
This new regulation, in response to the decree of July 21, 2025, aims to create a healthier environment for all users of the establishment: patients, professionals, companions, visitors, ambulance staff, transporters, service providers, and external companies. The entrances and pathways of the buildings, as well as outdoor sites in the city, will now be smoke-free areas. Five smoking zones will be set up at least 10 meters from the buildings and out of public view, clearly identified by dedicated signage.
The initiative goes beyond prohibition; it also offers support for those who wish to reduce or quit their tobacco consumption. Nicotine substitutes will be available for six months for outpatients, staff, companions, visitors, and external interveners. Hospitalized patients already benefit from this program. The addiction service of the Vichy Hospital Center (04 70 97 22 39) and Tabac Info service (3989 or tabac-info-service.fr) are available for any assistance.
The success of this collective effort relies on everyone's mobilization. The hospital invites patients, professionals, visitors, and external partners to contribute to making the Vichy Hospital Center a healthier and health-promoting environment.
