The beautification of public and private spaces is a priority for the municipality of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule. To encourage residents' efforts, an annual awards ceremony for floral homes is held at the end of summer. This year, the event took place on Tuesday, October 6, in the ceremonial hall of the Town Hall.
Estelle Gazet, Deputy Mayor for Environment, Urban Planning, and Housing, presided over the ceremony alongside several members of the municipal council. These council members had previously toured the town in July to observe and rate the most flowery gardens, terraces, and balconies.
The jury took into account the difficult weather conditions of the summer, which made plant maintenance more challenging. Consequently, this year's competition did not establish a ranking, with all winners receiving their awards at the same level.
A total of 39 Saint-Pourcinois residents were honored. Each received a birdhouse, crafted by the town's communal technical services. The ceremony concluded with a friendly reception.
