After a voting period from October 13 to 23, 2026, residents of the Miribel et du Plateau Community of Communes (CCMP) territory have chosen the name for their future cinema. The participatory initiative saw 1,538 voters take part.
Three names were proposed: ÉPÔPÉ, LA CAPSULE, or L’ÉKLA. The vote, accessible online and during on-site meetings (Beynost library, Miribel market, Beynost commercial zone), allowed for broad participation, including from individuals less comfortable with digital tools.
Ultimately, Epopé received the most votes, thus giving its identity to the new intercommunal cultural facility.
The future cinema, currently under construction in Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost, at the Forum des Sports, will feature 5 screens and 810 seats. Its programming will be diverse, including mainstream films, Art House cinema, youth-oriented screenings, and media education initiatives. Beyond projections, it aims to be a vibrant hub for discovery and encounters for residents, families, schools, and associations.
The CCMP extends its warm thanks to the 1,538 voters, the partners and organizations that helped promote the campaign, and everyone who engaged with the teams during the on-site meetings.
