The CESU 01, an emergency care training center based at the CHB, participated on October 16, 2026, in France's largest cardiac arrest challenge, organized for the national day of cardio-respiratory arrest.

The national association of CESU centers recorded a total of 1,080,762 compressions performed across France by 35 trainer-caregiver centers. CESU 01 ranked 13th, with 41,524 compressions carried out by 139 participants, including healthcare professionals, patients, and visitors.
CESU 01, located within the Centre Hospitalier de Bourg-en-Bresse (CHB) and in conjunction with SAMU 01, is dedicated to training healthcare professionals and emergency chain actors in the department. It provides training in the management of vital emergencies, potential emergencies, and exceptional health situations (SSE).
The training, which combines theoretical and practical approaches with simulations and mannequins that can mimic human reactions, generally takes place at the CESU 01 premises at CHB in Fleyriat, but can also be held off-site.
