On the 'chemin du plâtre', an area prone to landslides, rainwater infiltration is not possible. Impermeable vegetated channels will collect the water and direct it to buried retention structures called Tubosiders, approximately 2 meters in diameter, installed under the roadway. After hydrocarbon filtration, the water will be released at a limited rate into the natural environment.
On Rue du Parc, soil characteristics allow for rainwater infiltration, and two retention and infiltration basins are planned. In case of heavy rainfall, an overflow will evacuate excess water into the Petit Gardon. These basins will also help create environments favorable to local biodiversity.
Stormwater management and the preservation of natural environments have been fully integrated into the project. Given the hydraulic challenges, the project has also been the subject of a file under the Water Law.
